All about that Blurb...

I don't know about all of you but I have taken a gazillion photos since becoming a mom but I rarely print them. I have made a few photo albums with other companies but was never truly happy with them. When Morgan was about 6 months old I started looking around Pinterest for ideas on new companies. I knew I was going to need a book that can hold a lot of pages because I wanted to add all of Morgan's weekly and monthly pictures along with all her letters. Most books only hold about 100-150 pages and that just wasn't going to work. Then I found Blurb

First I ordered a few little books of Morgan's hospital pictures, newborn pictures, six monthsnine months, and fall pictures. Once I received them I was so happy with how they turned out I knew I wanted to use them to make Morgan's First Year book. This post is in no way sponsored by Blurb, I just really love my books and wanted to share with all of you. If your like me and have tons of photos but don't have them printed I recommend at least making these books so your pictures aren't just sitting on your computer.
Once, I got started on her First Year book I knew it was going to be big. I never thought it was going to be 404 pages big. I wanted all the pictures to be big and beautiful so I chose the large landscape 13x11. And it is big and beautiful, just the way I wanted it.
The layout I did was based off of all her weekly pictures/letters and then her monthly update. After her monthly update there are pages of all her pictures from that month.
Here are a few pages...
The great part about Blurb is you design your whole book offline and then upload it once you are done. This gave me the chance to work on it off and on. Once I started her second year book I worked on it every month so I wouldn't get so behind. It really does make it easier. And now that I have made a few and have the hang of it I actually just take about 20 minutes at the end of every week to work on Quinn's.

Morgan loves the book. She wants to look at all the time.
This should give you an idea of how big it is.
Since Morgan wants to always look at the books I have to put it up somewhere where she can't touch it but I also want it where I can see it. So this is where I display some of my photo books.
If you decide to make a book with Blurb you will receive a coupon for your first one. Once you are on their mailing list they send out coupons quite often. Especially around the holidays they will offer up to 30% off!

I can't wait to add the final touches to Morgan's Second Year book and share with all of you.

Well, if you made this far than thanks for listening to my rambling. :)
Have a great rest of your week.

365 Photo Project

Happy Friday Friends! Ready for the weekend?
This mama is! I'm so ready for Steve to be home. I'm currently stuck in the house with 2 sick kids. I don't think there is anything worse than seeing your kids sick.

Last year I attempted to do a 365 project for Morgan. Unfortunately, my pregnancy got the best of me a I never completed it. But this year I will try again.
This year I want to get a photo of the girls together. Something that captures our day. Then at the end of the year I want to make it into a book for each of the girls.

Here are pictures 1-9

Day 1 didn't go as well as I'd had hoped but this is true life, Morgan doing her own thing and Quinn trying to roll over.

2/365
Morgan hasn't napped today so the only thing making her happy today is mini Oreos. Quinn rolled over from back to tummy today! Big day for our Quinny.

Still rocking' our Christmas clothes cause they are so darn cute!

The holidays are officially over for us. Everyone is going back to work and we are back home. We had a great 2 weeks with the family! Today we are having a lazy Sunday. {Q has a nice hold of M's hair}

A little afternoon bath to help us get through this 12 degree day!
The cutest little Batgirl baby and Flash baby!

We are slowly getting Quinny used to her crib and of course Morgan couldn't resist getting in.

7/365
It was freezing today and Morgan was amazed by all the 'noow' {snow}

My sweet girls!! Morgan loves doing everything with Quinn.

Every month when it comes to Quinn's monthly pictures Morgan runs around saying 'heart mom, heart, please please!!'. How can you say no to that sweet face!?

Hope you all have a good weekend.

HELLO 2015!!! A little update and few thoughts...

Happy New Year friends! Wow, I can't believe it's 2015.
The last month has been fun, crazy and exciting. We had some family in town for Christmas and it was so fun having us all be together. But, of course it went by way to fast and after being away for 2+ weeks we are home and trying to get back on a schedule.

Here's a little update on what we have been up to...

 My cousin Anthony is 3 years older than Morgan, so of course she wanted to do everything he did. I feel like it was a glimpse into what Quinn will be like with her big sister. This was the first time my Aunt, Uncle and cousin met Quinny and it was her first time meeting family from my side.

Here are some of the family pictures we did. So sad Steve wasn't there to be in them but I know he was happy about that. ;)

And here are some of Quinn's weekly pictures over the last few weeks.
She is going to be 4 months old in 3 days.

So, I've never been the type to make New Years resolutions but this year I'm going to try and make some changes so I guess you can say I am making resolutions this year. Here are a few...

Be a healthier me - I hate saying I'm on a diet! Lets be honest they never work. At least not for me. So I've been calling it a life style change. I just want to be a healthier version of me.
Start a skincare routine - I have always been really bad about taking care of my skin. Lets face it if I don't start now then I will regret in the future.
Have more couple time It's tough being parents to 2 young kids. My husband and I never have alone time and the last date we had was the day before Quinn was born. I'd like to have a date night at least once a month.
Have more family outings - Morgan is at the age where we want to start taking her to more places. We are so lucky to be so close to downtown Pittsburgh, there are so many museums that we want to take her too.
Blog more - There are a lot more of you out there that actually read up on us than I thought so I'd like to keep you all updated more frequently then what I am doing now. And, maybe even share some of my favorite things I find/use, projects and finally show some pictures of our house {I mean we've only lived here for 7 months!}

So there you have it, a few photos and a lot of rambling!
Have a wonderful week.
xoxo
